Langley Fine Arts

The langley school “JEFFREY SHERMAN” fine arts center

This is the third building built by Miller Brothers for this growing private school campus. The upper level of this facility includes the audio/visual room to control lighting, sound, and music along with art and band classrooms, music room, and balcony. The main level has an open theatre with a large stage, display cabinets, a small coffee shop, lounge areas, and a patio outside. The lower level is to be used for storage and mechanical rooms. The most striking parts of the building are the main stair shaped like a dollhouse, the open canopy, extensive millwork in the lobby and auditorium, and Forbo flooring. The exterior is built with brick, split‐face block, precast stone, and pre-finished metal panels.

With the small construction site and an occupied campus, preplanning for storage, safety, pedestrian walkways, and driving traffic was a vital part of this project.
